Chintz Trail is an original block print design that I have created in collaboration with Daydress as part of their Spring 2022 collection. The design is a take on a traditional chintz with a jungly twist, and was inspired by an 18th century block printed mourning dress that was part of the 'Chintz: Cotton in Bloom' exhibition at the Fashion and Textiles Museum in London in 2021. The intricate three block design has been expertly carved and printed by talented craftspeople in India that Daydress work with closely, the dresses are then produced in a small workshop in Jaipur and stitched nearby. It’s been such a dream to collaborate with Daydress as we share the same values – it’s all about small batches, block printing and creating beautiful and unique objects.
